Food Lab Reporting App
Lab staff tap photos of staff, containers and samples and enter the weights. The app does the weight math and makes both Arabic reports.

In the client's words: “I'm looking for a simple solution that allows me to generate two reports automatically just by selecting a set of images.”
The problem
A food testing lab team in the UAE wrote two Arabic reports by hand per package, a PDF draft and a Word report. Most details repeated. Weights took the longest: weigh 30 boxes, weigh one empty box, multiply and subtract, all by hand.
What I built
A reporting system for iPads, tablets and laptops:
- 1Tap photos of staff, containers and samples
- 2A calculator works out the net weight
- 3Both reports download in Arabic, right to left
- 4The Examination Team adds the result and closes the case
The hard part
The first piece calculator asked for pieces per box. Real packages rarely give that number: the team knows boxes, strips and pieces per strip, and some samples come loose. It now works out boxes × strips × pieces × piece weight, even with no boxes.
The results
- A first working version within 3 days
- “It matches exactly what I had in mind”
- “The calculation logic is perfect”
- The client came back asking for a second phase
